Is ChatWatch free?
You can use it free before paying anything, and how depends on your WhatsApp number's country. Numbers from the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Australia and New Zealand get a free preview: no card, one contact, a real online history for 24 hours. Everywhere else, and for the full toolkit anywhere, the first subscription starts with a 3-day free trial: you add a card, nothing is charged until the trial ends, and cancelling before that costs nothing.
There is no permanently free plan. Recording someone's activity around the clock takes servers that run around the clock, and we would rather charge a fair price than sell ads or your data.
What is in every plan
Monthly and yearly are the same product with different billing. Both include:
- Up to 10 tracked contacts at the same time, added by number or from your WhatsApp contacts list.
- Online History: every online and offline event with the time and the length of each session, kept for 12 months.
- Last Seen: the full sequence of when each contact was last online, not just the latest stamp.
- NightWatch: last connection before bed and first in the morning, for the last 10 nights.
- Chat Probability: how often two tracked contacts are online at the same moments.
- Email support.
How payment works
Checkout is handled by Stripe, so you can pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay; PayPal is available too. Your card details go to Stripe, never to our servers. The price is set in the currency of your WhatsApp number's country and is the one you see on the plan screen before you confirm.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period. You can cancel from your account in one tap, keep access until the period ends, and you are not charged again.
Why not a free tracker app?
Most free WhatsApp tracker apps run on your phone, show ads, stop recording when closed, and some are outright malware. ChatWatch records from our servers 24 hours a day, keeps a year of history, and touches nobody's phone. That is what the subscription pays for.
Pricing questions
How much does ChatWatch cost?
- There is a monthly plan and a yearly plan, both tracking up to 10 contacts. The exact price depends on your currency and is shown on this page and at checkout. The yearly plan works out cheaper per month.
Do I need a card for the free preview?
- No. The free preview needs only your WhatsApp number, and it is available for numbers from the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Australia and New Zealand. Other countries start with the 3-day card trial instead.
What happens when the free trial ends?
- Your subscription starts and your card is charged for the plan you chose. Cancel at any point during the trial and nothing is charged.
Can I cancel anytime?
- Yes, from your account, in one tap. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for and are not charged again.
Can I get a refund?
- No. Subscriptions are not refunded, which is why we let you try before you pay: the free preview needs no card, the 3-day trial charges nothing until it ends, and you can cancel at any time in one tap so you are never billed for a period you did not want.
